Sometimes we paint outdoors and don't have all the necessary colors on hand. Then it's important to remember what we've learned about color.
Mixing with just three colors, like in a printer:
Yellow, magenta, and cyan; white is the sheet of paper, and a black cartridge for darkening.
This isn't about creating a detailed image, but about (re)gaining a feel for mixing colors.
Personally, I used to create a color scheme with three color cards, mix the colors, and then apply them to the canvas.
I'll show you an example here.
Perhaps you'll like this approach, even if it differs from your usual way of working, and it might help you paint in a simpler way again.
