What is a Featured Artist?

DPW features a selection of artists both on the Featured page and at the top of our What's New page (when they post new work). They are also at the top of our Daily Email that goes out to over 5,000 subscribers every day.

Permanent Featured Artists

Some of the featured artists are permanent. These are the original artists from back when DPW was an artist co-op gallery with a closed membership of 50 artists. A few years in, the group decided to open DPW up to all artists, however, with the promise they would remain featured. These are the permanent featured artist and they pay $20 a month instead of $12.95. We are no longer adding to our permanent featured artist group.

Contest Winners

The rest of our featured artists, which are not permanent, are artists who are one of the 15 winners in our DPW Monthly Contest.

Winning a Free Month as a Featured Artist

If you win a place (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) or are one of 12 Judge's Picks in our DPW Monthly Contest you will be a featured artist for a month for free.

Anyone can enter the contest whether they are a member or not. If you are not a member, you will receive a one month membership for free. If you are a member, you will receive your next month without charge. In both cases, you will be a featured artist for the month following the contest you were a winner in.

What do I do if I Win?

Being a featured artist is all about increased visibility on DPW. The best way to take advantage of it is to post new work to DPW as often as you can. Each day you post, one of your works of art posted for that day will appear near the top of the front page and the Daily Email.

What are Favorite Artists?

You can add and remove artists from your Favorite Artists and then view only their art on the What's New and the Search pages by clicking the my Favorite Artists search button near the top.

How do I Add a Favorite Artist?

It is easy to add artwork to your Favorite Artists.

Step 1. Sign in or register (it's free, quick, and easy), if you haven't already. Once signed in you can also leave comments on paintings and bid in our auctions.

Step 2. Click the outlined heart next to the artist's name.

You can also click on the heart next to the artist's in the popup that opens when you click on a thumbnail.

How do I Remove a Favorite Artist?

Remove a favorite artist just like you added it, however, the little heart next to the name of a favorite artist will be filled in .
