Each 6" x 6" piece begins with the map the wood offers, a topography shaped by years and seasons. I let the grain guide my brush, until the painting feels less like something placed on the wood and more like something drawn out of it. The result is both still and in motion, a meditation on form and flow.

These pieces have a partial color wrap onto raw wood sides.
