This piece was created on Ampersand scratchboard with various sharp tools - X-Acto knife, scalpel, tattoo needles, fiberglass brush and more. I scratch away at the layer of black India ink to varying values exposing the kaolin clay beneath the ink. It was sealed with several layers of satin varnish for protection so it doesn't need to be displayed under glass.
