After traveling in an RV since 2016 we have landed in a permanent place in Amado, AZ. It is a small home on 5 desert acres, beautiful view, and so quiet. I am finding the solitude to be the perfect recipe for focus and creativity. Everyday life is a constant reminder of how much our world is filled with kindness, beauty and bottomless inspiration.
I paint paintings of subjects and scenes that make me feel wondrous and joy, adding a small touch of whimsey. I like to think I can look into the soul of an animal or plant and I say to myself, what is in that 'natural Awe' that makes it want to be brought to the canvas? I identify the voice that is calling out, the felt message that will ultimately draw in the people that need to connect to it. I like to create a scene, the feel and the indications of the surrounding area. My fascination lies within the unseen relationship between subject, place, color, texture and the vibration of life energy - the in between - the stuff we cannot see.
I attended Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, receiving a degree in Graphic Design. Now focusing on fine art I have attended workshops from Dan Beck, Kim English, Nura Mascareñas, Michelle Torrez, Mitch Caster and Melinda Morrison, as well as classes at the Art Students League of Denver.
