Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.   --Pablo Picasso

Life has a way of throwing curveballs. After a career in anesthesia, my job ended abruptly. Hearing loss and divorce simultaneously upended my life and left me as a disabled, single mother to three young sons. Fortunately, it also brought me the blessing of an artistic journey which included forging one-of-a-kind jewelry designs, dabbling in mosaics, oil and acrylic painting. My jewelry has been worn by veteran ABC journalists Robin Roberts and Maureen Green, and has been featured at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art for an invitational solo show.

My creative path, though circuitous, has brought me so much joy. Today I embrace the meditative practice of painting daily, usually in acrylics where layers are added, one upon the other. It's my zen time. My art has been described as impressionistic with loose, confident brushstrokes full of color.

Take a look and I hope you enjoy my renderings. As I said, painting is meditative and I hope you feel both the sense of contentment and excitement I do as I create. Welcome to my world.
