At the risk of being criticized for not knowing their anatomy , I had to try painting my first elk who still had not dropped his unique antlers! We were photographing elk at a feeding station near Naches, WA...about 480 bull elk, cows and yearlings. This fellow patiently waiting for feeding time displayed 6 points on the left beam and maybe 11 on the other side with a strange antler coming out of the normal right beam....
