In this new piece, In the Garden, I wanted to capture the feeling of standing eye level among the flowers, experiencing their colors and forms up close. The 24 by 36 acrylic painting focuses on vertical green stems and leaves that structure the composition, guiding the eye through layers of blooms. The large pink petals, warm orange and yellow flowers, and delicate white clusters are set against a bold pink background, which highlights the contrast between the shapes and textures. I worked carefully to bring out the intricate details of each petal and leaf, emphasizing how light and color interact in this intimate view. The perspective was key to the process—by placing the viewer within the plant life itself, I aimed to reveal the complex beauty of the garden from a fresh, immersive angle.
