The little creature in this work is a male Eastern Tailed-Blue butterfly and I happen to reside in a small pocket of the United States (eastern Washington and northern Idaho) where they can be found. They are very small and the one in my art is not to scale. I used my artistic license to make it bigger so that we can enjoy the lovely details of its wings.
