This is an oil I completed during a plein air event in Southport, NC. It was a new section recently opened up by the town as a kayak launch and not well known evidently by the lack of people coming by.I was first looking to paint some receding storm clouds, then came upon this stand of Loblolly Pines that are everywhere in this area standing above the scrubby marsh.Presently exhibiting at the Gallery Citrine in Wilmington as part of the Wilmington Art Association. Winter exhibit.
