Just down the hill from Lake Tahoe is the relatively lush Carson Valley in Nevada, an oasis where the pioneers stopped to rest and resupply. This scene was a pleasure to paint to the sound of quail calling as evening fell. Unframed gouache on illustration board. It is varnished so does not have to be displayed under glass.
