There are 2 paintings here that go together as you can see, so I’m selling them together. Each one is 7x5. They are based on the portraits of a married couple by the artist Piero Della Francesca in around 1472. It is called a Diptych, and these types of portraits were common among rich people. In this particular one the husband is on the right and his wife on the left. Usually they were the other way around, but apparently Federico’s face was disfigured on the right side so the artist did it the other way. If you look up the original paintings you will see that even without the disfigurement, Federico was rather scary looking, and I softened him up a bit, at the same time making him look up at his wife instead of down at her.
