These herons are partly from my imagination. I don’t think there are any with these colors. The bit of land the birds are standing on has an undercoating of copper leaf that shows through the paint on top of it. THe green tones look very bright in the photo but in a normal lighting situation they will look more subdued. Mostly I like the creamy, dreamy look of this painting which was a result of many thin layers of paint applied over time. These herons are partly from my imagination.
