This painting started when I was doing a demo on transparent acrylic washes. It wasn’t intentional but then the faces emerged and I had to continue painting. I added collage using previously made gelli prints and newsprint, followed by acrylics and finished with juicy oil paints. “Deep Conversation” portrays the subject of communication and human connection. Fish is my go-to as I try to give voice to the voiceless. I grew up in Poland where I was often reminded that “kids and fish don’t have a voice.” I don’t think it’s true so I’ve been exploring this idea ever since.
