This is an Alchechengi Peruviano, also called Goldenberry or Physalis Peruviana or Cape Gooseberry They are delicious to eat but they are also used in medicine in Europe and the US for gentle purgation, diuresis, as an antipyretic and for liver protection. The funny thing is that they are botanically closely linked to the tomato and egg plant.
