The impossibly clear water of Lake Michigan, Traverse Bay, leads to the tiny, Gull Island. In the 1920s, a couple who wanted to get away from it all, bought the island and built a lovely home there. The locals, warned them of the seagulls that populated the island, but the couple thought they’d fly off once they moved there, but the locals were right and the seagulls, literally ran the people off the island. The home was abandoned. Today only the chimneys survive and of course the hundreds of seagulls! The impossibly clear water of Lake Michigan, Traverse Bay, leads to the tiny, Gull Island.
