I was the Artist in Residence for Tangier Island, a tiny strip of sand in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. I tried to paint a painting a day. This was painted looking towards the channel leading to the harbor. The channel is lined with crab shanties or as the locals call them, “crab floats”.
