Bears have been easing into my awareness ever since an American Black Bear first stalked my homestead and family. Since then, they've appeared in dreams and daydreams, in the stories friends tell, and as quiet reminders of boundaries--both inner and outer--of protection, and of standing in my own presence. Each visit carries a different message, one that seems to arrive exactly when it's needed.
