“Dock”
Acrylic monotype collage with stitching

Not a typical palette for me but I love how this one turned out. There are a lot of tiny little details and textures at play.
My mom was a quilter and instilled in me a love of shapes, whether she knew it or not. Collage and quilting have similar processes, one using fabric and the other using paper. Back in the spring of 2014 I made quite a few of these small collages using monotype paper I made with my Gelli plate. The paper has such a beautiful visual texture. The collages are machine stitched onto heavy watercolor paper and framed simply.
I’ve been painting for a lot of years…Orphan works are paintings left over from various series work that hasn’t sold or has been hanging in our house. They are pieces that don’t necessarily fit with what I’m doing currently, so I’ve decided to list them here. They are looking for their forever homes so I’ll cover the shipping within the continental US to help make that happen. :)
