My latest painting combines two of my favourite subjects; lemons and blue and white ceramics but it is more than just a depiction of fruit, it’s an invitation to reflect on the beauty surrounding us encouraging us to find joy in the simple things. In the realm of still-life painting, few subjects evoke the warmth and vibrancy of everyday life quite like a simple bowl of lemons radiating a cheerful energy reminding us of summer days and the zest of life. I painted the worn out table in soothing shades of blue and love the interplay of the light and shadows cast by the leaves peaking through which add an organic touch grounding this painting in a sense of place and time. It’s a gentle reminder of the natural world, where colours blend seamlessly, and shadows play a vital role in shaping our perception. In a world that often rushes by, a still-life stands as a testament to the power of observation and the joy of creation which is why I enjoy still-life painting so much. For me, this artwork serves as a reminder to slow down, savour the moment, and appreciate the beauty in our everyday experiences. I hope you also feel relaxed and happy looking at it 🍋🍋🍋 My latest painting combines two of my favourite subjects; lemons and blue and white ceramics but it is more than just a depiction of fruit, it’s an invitation to reflect on the beauty surrounding us encouraging us to find joy in the simple things.
