I love the way the sun backlit this butterfly in our garden, turning the wings translucent, and revealing the shadow of the butterfly’s body through the surface of the front wing. Hopefully I did a decent job of capturing that effect! This was my first time painting on an aluminium panel, which was an interesting challenge as it has a much smoother surface than I'm used to so the paint slides around a lot!
