Porter Valley in Sheffield is a great place for spotting Kingfishers, and this spot near Shepherd Wheel is opposite a branch where they often land, about as close as you can get without being in a hide. I'd waited there for hours on previous days without any sightings, but I got lucky on this day, and this kingfisher showed up within 10 minutes of my arrival.
