One of the nice things about moving to Long Island was finding a community of fellow artists who enjoy exploring and painting the beautiful landscape. It is nice to pull up to an isolated setting and find others who are also settled in to paint the scene. While we each focus on our own work, it is helpful to have someone to ask for advice, or to exchange a quick word with as we pass the time. This is a painting of a friend who specializes on watercolors, and beautifully captures the spirit of this place in her work. I'm grateful she introduced me to "The Wednesday Group," with whom I enjoy painting.
