With Autumn approaching, I felt in the mood to revisit a subject from a few years ago. My husband and I backpacked into a Maine Trails Hut and enjoyed hiking and exploring this lake while there. The huts are open summer, fall, and winter, and are spaced far enough apart to allow people to move from one to another to stay. The food and beds mean one's pack can be very light, which is especially nice for those of us who no longer backpack very often (or at all)! The colors were at their peak, and seemed to vibrate.
